RPU, a division of the City of Rochester,
MN, is the largest municipal utility in
the state of Minnesota. RPU serves over
45,000 electric customers and over 34,000
water customers, and has revenues nearing
$100 million annually. In 2005, $7.8 million
was returned to the City in the form of
"in lieu of tax payments."
